The purpose of this ministry is to assist the Body in
bringing up spiritual sons and daughters who have
a heart for God, strength of character, and a vision for the future.

Hi all,
We pray that your summer is going well.
We want to take this time to thank Sister Marybell Sweet for the 10 years of faithful
service she has poured into LITES. For those of you who are not familiar with LITES,
“Gramma Marybell”, as she is known here, has been responsible for leading the Fair
Haven LITES House kitchen duty and cleaning. Her presence in the dorm makes living
there feel more like home for our students. She has worked on the LITES financial
books for several years, mentored many of the young ladies who came to LITES, and
lead songs at different times. She co-taught a relationship/courtship class, and
did much of the behind the scenes office work needed to thank donors and supporters
of LITES.
On many occasions she and her husband, the late Pastor Melvin Sweet, would take
out individual students for a special birthday meal, something the students looked
forward to very much. God has blessed Sister Marybell with a huge heart for young
people who want a deeper relationship with God and are willing to go after Him with
all their hearts. God has used many of her life experiences to encourage the young
people here at LITES, as well as make them laugh.
Sister Marybell has had a heart to spend more time with her family and new great
grand children. She hopes to do some traveling and settle somewhere in Arkansas
or Texas, but is still making plans. Please be praying for her safety and ministry
to the Body. We know she will continue to be a tool in God’s hands anywhere He
sends her.
Please also be praying for the LITES staff, as we seek God for the help to fill
the gaps with the right people. Pray that God will send them and that those of us
who are here will know what new tasks He has for us to do. Thank you so much for
your continued support and prayers for LITES Ministries.
