Hello Everyone!
Hope you’ve been doing well. Even though temperatures have been cooler and some
have been under the weather, we’ve had several encouraging developments over the
last few weeks. Leah found out she will indeed be going to Jamaica with the
Shine Medical Missions team. They are planning to go the first week of April.
Also, Andrew, Tim, and Bryan completed their LifeSpring classes. Work in the
LITES area also continues to progress. Walls are being prepared for painting
thanks to Jeff, Tim, and Josh Allen. Jerry and his son Alex have been working at
Fairhaven as well, fixing floors and storm windows. We’re thankful for all that
God has enabled us to accomplish.
In Bible class, we are currently reading in Job and 2 Corinthians. The book of
Job raises questions to a number of issues, all of which have provided us with
much to explore and discuss. We’re also making progress in the book “Celebration
of Discipline”, having looked at the topics of meditation, prayer, fasting,
study, simplicity, and solitude. Canceling classes last Tuesday, LITES had the
opportunity to visit the remains of the famous steamboat “Arabia” in Kansas
City. It was interesting to see the wealth of items that were recovered from
this boat from over 150 years ago, some of which are the only ones known to be
in existence. We enjoyed having a change of pace, getting out and exploring
together.
