Programs - Second Year

Description...
The Second Year program is available to First Year students who have matured beyond the most fundamental stages and desire to have greater opportunity to grow to new levels in their relationship with Christ. Second Year focuses on extension and implementation of leadership skills, as well as moving toward greater understanding of God's calling. As such, the Second Year program has a much more individualized approach.

Admission into the Second Year program is determined by the LITES staff via interview(s) with the student and with the family (as appropriate). Through this interview process, the potential student and LITES mentor will gain initial understanding and direction for the growth and accountability of the student, taking into consideration ministry interests, talent/abilities, spiritual gifting, and other factors.


Curriculum...
Curriculum for a Second Year student is tailored according to need. The curriculum will not only include classes/books, but will also include other activities that would be appropriate to the needs and calling of the individual student and also to the ministry. Some of the other activities may include (but are not limited to):

• Leading morning worship
• Participating in peer mentoring with a First Year student
• Leading Friday evening youth/young adult services
• Teaching assignments
• Leading prayer teams (along with a staff member)
• Working on various clerical, janitorial, kitchen, maintenance, and/or transportation activities in support of the ministry

• Daily Bible Reading
• Daily devotional reading
• Scripture Memory
• Journaling
• Mentoring

$2000 to be paid by the opening day of classes, with the balance to be paid on a schedule approved by the Director. Limited employment may be available with LITES Ministries through specific ministry assignments to be determined by the staff, taking into account God's calling, gifting, and training.
